Section 17
Custody of voters’ registerEach electoral officer shall take custody of the voters register for his or her Local Government Area or Area Council under the general supervision of the Resident Electoral Commissioner.
This section provides that each Electoral Officer appointed for each Local Government Area retains custody of the Electoral register for that Local Government Area.
Note: An electoral officer is an INEC staff who is the head of the Commission’s office at a Local Government Area or Area Council level
